Italian Days
Step One: Purchase a bowl of spaghetti and then wander from booth to booth sampling the wide variety of spaghetti sauces. Yummm:-)
Listen to Italian music such as Led Zepplin hits played by and accordian band. And yes, they did indeed do their version of "An American Band" as "An Accordian Band"!
You just gotta have street jugglers:-)
I am not sure about the tall people thing. Maybe wading across canals to get stalled gondolas?
Grape Stomping! Don't get too close. The stomper stomps away. The musher holds the jug and keeps the screen clear so the juice keeps flowing out of the barrel. After 3 minutes all jugs are weighed. Number 3 won with 6 pounds of juice and permantly purple dyed feet. Surprisingly, Mona was quite enthused to try this event??? Fortunatley cooler heads prevailed, mine:-) I told her to put it on the calendar for next year when you all come to visit. Be sure and bring some clothing you can throw away after the contest:-)
The there was a bocce ball tournament going on during the two days. 4 person teams were competing for a $400 first place prize. It was kind of interesting to watch. I think it is kind of Italian curling. It did look like it would be fun once I figured out the strategies going on.
