Ice Skating in Downtown Reno
The downtown area by the river is now a skating rink:-) For $5 you can skate away. Jess and I tried a bit of skating. Skating is like riding a bike... whatever you do, don't fall down! I made a few laps around the rink, which only took about an hour, and then quit while I was ahead.
This is a bad photo merge taken from the CalNeva Parking garage.
Jess and I are getting ready to hit the ice as soon as the Zamboni finishes. Nothing like new ice!
Here comes Jess knifing her way through the skaters.
Here I am flashing by Jessi. Fortunately our camera is able to capture someone moving at high speed.

Thanksgiving Time 2006
Once again, I have failed to capture all the food and such that accompanied our day. So you will have to be put up with just a few snapshots taken at the last moment:-)
We were very happy to have Grandma Rosella with us. Mona said, "Let's go pick up some groceries." Grandma said,"OK." And the next stop was Reno:-)
Here you can see the joyous reunion of Mona and Tony. I believe that is a full headlock that Mona had to use.
Jessi was quite excited to have the famous 4 bean Costco salad for Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately, she didn't realize she would have to cook if she was going to eat anything else.
Mona and Jess both had their laptops with them so they could email each other... from across the table.
And of course we took a trip to the Casino.

Grace Warner Elementary
OK, I finally brought my camera to school so I could take a few pictures and show off our school a bit:-)
Here is the front of our school from the parking lot.
We are fortunate to have a large playfield, with grass!
Students line up behind the school on the playground before school each day.
Here is our great office team. They keep our school running well and keep me out of trouble:-)
We are fortunate to have three full-day kindergartens. We have about 27 students in each class. This makes for rather large classes, but we have great teachers!
We are growing. Here is our second grade class in the modular classroom.
With no more open classrooms, we needed to make a team classroom. This is two classes, with two teachers in one room. Once again, it takes a great staff to make this work well.
Lunch time in the cafeteria. We have about 240 students eating at this lunchtime.
Janice (child nutrition) and Dianna (head custodian) keep things running smoothly.
After lunch, it is back to work in 3rd grade.
We have a great computer lab that was donated by the local newspaper, The Reno Gazette, when they adopted our school for a community partnership. We also had the opportunity to have public service announcement for recycling filmed at our school through this partnership.
